Pink wildflower

A charming solitary pink wildflower blooms close to the ground amid sparse dry grass and rocky soil on a hillside or plateau, likely in the Western Ghats or Deccan plateau of Maharashtra. The five-petaled flower displays beautifully pronounced deeper pink veining across each rounded petal radiating from a pale cream-yellow centre with delicate stamens — characteristic of the Malvaceae (mallow) family, possibly Murdannia or more likely a species of Convolvulus or Geranium found in seasonally dry grasslands.
